Professional Profile

Weimar Escobar, I have a degree in music from the University of Antioquia, composer, pianist and arranger born in Medellín, Colombia, with an imminent creative spirit and great talent and sensitivity on the piano, especially noted for his Latin Jazz productions in a Fusion style , where various influences converge, from classic to contemporary.

He received musical training at the University of Antioquia, initially in the piano instrument program and later in musical pedagogy, completing his university cycle with great success in 2014 and then receiving his degree as a Bachelor of Music in 2017.

For over three decades, Weimar Escobar has intensely delved into the study of various contemporary genres of popular music with an academic approach, such as bossa nova, Latin Jazz, and salsa – fusion genres highly influenced by Jazz. Here, modern harmony finds an ideal space for development, research, and analysis, all grounded in the practice of transcription.

Actualmente, realiza charlas, conversatorios y exposiciones sobre temas relacionados con la armonía moderna, como una exhortación a la música, también conciertos de carácter didáctico donde habla sobre su trabajo como compositor, trayectoria y experiencia que se remonta al año de 1986 cuando crea sus primeros preludios y piezas de corte romántico y moderno para el piano. Al día de hoy se calcula alrededor de un centenar de obras escritas para distintos formatos y en distintos estilos musicales.
